More Broadway talent has been added to the upcoming reimagined Cinderella film. The previously announced movie musical remake will arrive in cinemas on February 5, 2021.
New to the cast is Tony winner James Corden (who first devised the idea for the new Cinderella) and John Mulaney (Oh, Hello on Broadway), who will play mice/footmen along with stand-up comedian Romesh Ranganathan.
Also newly announced to appear in the film are Oscar nominee Minnie Driver as Queen Beatrice and Grammy winner Missy Elliott as the Town Crier.
They join the previously announced two-time Grammy nominee Camila Cabello in the title role, Maddie Baillio and Charlotte Spencer as stepsisters, with Tony winners Idina Menzel and Billy Porter as the evil stepmother and the fairy godmother, respectively.
The new modern-day Cinderella will feature a script adapted by Emmy nominee Kay Cannon (Blockers), who will also direct. Specific details regarding plot changes and the music that will be included are being kept under wraps.
