In advance of an upcoming Broadway run, Stefano Massini's epic new play The Lehman Trilogy has been scheduled for a fall engagement with Los Angeles' Center Theatre Group. The production, directed by Sam Mendes, will run from October 20 through November 28 in the Ahmanson Theatre.
Adapted by Ben Power, The Lehman Trilogy weaves through nearly two centuries of Lehman lineage, following the brothers Mayer, Emanuel and Henry Lehman from their 1844 arrival in New York City to the 2008 collapse of the financial firm bearing their name.
The Los Angeles production will feature the full Broadway creative team, including scenic designer Es Devlin, costume designer Katrina Lindsay, lighting designer Jon Clark, video designer Luke Halls, music/sound designer Nick Powell, co-sound designer Dominic Bilkey, music director Candida Caldicot and movement coordinator Polly Bennett. Casting will be announced at a later date.
In addition to the Broadway-premiere run, The Lehman Trilogy was previously seen in an Olivier-nominated staging at London's National Theatre and off-Broadway at the Park Avenue Armory.
Center Theatre Group's 2020-2021 season will also include Dear Evan Hansen (December 1, 2020-January 23, 2021), Les Misérables (January 26-February 28, 2021), Hadestown (March 2–April 4, 2021), To Kill a Mockingbird (April 29–June 6, 2021), Come From Away (June 9-July 4, 2021), The Prom (July 6–August 8, 2021) and Ain't Too Proud (August 11–September 5, 2021).
