Mark your calendar! Netflix has announced a May 1 premiere date for Hollywood, a new series from Emmy- and Tony-winning producer Ryan Murphy. The seven-episode series is packed with stage stars.
Co-created by Murphy and Ian Brennan, Hollywood is billed as a love letter to the Golden Age of Tinseltown, set in the 1940s, focusing on the lives of Archie, Raymond and Jack—played by two-time Tony nominee Jeremy Pope (Ain't Too Proud), Emmy winner Darren Criss (American Buffalo) and David Corenswet (Murphy's The Politician), respectively.
The cast also includes two-time Tony winner Patti LuPone (Company) as Avis, Tony nominee Holland Taylor (Ann) as Ellen Kincaid, two-time Tony winner Joe Mantello (The Normal Heart, director of Murphy's The Boys in the Band) as Dick and four-time Emmy winner Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory, Murphy's The Boys in the Band) as talent agent Henry Willson, with Emmy nominee Dylan McDermott as Ernie, Samara Weaving as Claire, Maude Apatow as Henrietta, Jake Picking as Rock Hudson, Laura Harrier as Camille, Oscar winner Mira Sorvino and Emmy winner Rob Reiner.
