We won't send roses, but roses did suit the limited engagement of Jerry Herman's rarely produced musical Mack & Mabel, which played the final performance of its limited engagement on February 23. New York City Center presented the showbiz musical, about the real-life romance between silent movie director Mack Sennett and his screen muse Mabel Normand, from February 19 to 23. This new version, which was a Broadway flop in 1974, used Francine Pascal's revised version of Michael Stewart's book. It starred Tony-nominated actor Douglas Sills as Mack and Alexandra Socha as Mabel, and was directed and choreographed by Josh Rhodes. See photos of the cast on their closing night below.
