Wicked is about to welcome its newest stars. Lindsay Pearce, a runner up on television's The Glee Project, and Sam Gravitte, a former Wicked understudy, will take over the roles of Elphaba and Fiyero in the smash-hit Broadway musical on February 25. They will replace current stars Hannah Corneau and Jake Boyd, who played their final performance at the Gershwin Theatre on February 23. In addition, Alexandra Billings, acclaimed for her turn on Amazon's Transparent, joined the company of Wicked as Madame Morrible on January 20, the first transgender performer to play the role. She replaced Nancy Opel, who left the musical on January 19. Wicked is created by Winnie Holzman and Stephen Schwartz, and is about how the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz, Elphaba got her bad reputation. See photos of the new cast below.
