A group of talented young Broadway stars are among the nominees for the 10th Annual Clive Barnes Awards. The presentation of the annual honor recognizing excellence in theater and dance will take place on April 6 at 3:00pm at Lincoln Center's Walter Reade Theater.
Nominees in the Theater Artist Award category include Celia Rose Gooding for her standout turn as Frankie Healy in the Alanis Morissette musical Jagged Little Pill, Andrew Burnap for his portrayal of Toby Darling in the two-part epic The Inheritance, Sophia Anne Caruso for her starring performance as Lydia in Beetlejuice and Christopher Livingston for his dual turn as James Bevel and Jimmie Lee Jackson in The Great Society. Livingston is also being recognized for his work in Something Clean with Roundabout Underground.
All finalists receive a cash prize of $500, while the winners of each category will receive an award of $5,000.
Previous winners of the Clive Barnes Theater Artist Award include Edmund Donovan (Lewiston/Clarkston), Evan Ruggiero (Bastard Jones), Khris Davis (The Royale), Dave Thomas Brown (The Legend of Georgia McBride), Alex Sharp (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time), Jonny Orsini (The Nance), Rob McClure (Chaplin), MJ Rodriguez (Rent) and Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur).
