Coal Country, a new play-with-music currently running off-Broadway at the Public Theater, just released its first production photos. The production features music by three-time Grammy-winning country/folk artist Steve Earle, and is written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen. It's about the 2010 Upper Big Branch Mine disaster in West Virginia, which killed 29 men and is the most deadly mining disaster in recent American history. The creators based the musical on real-life interviews with survivors and family members. Coal Country opens on March 3 and runs until March 29. See photos from the show below.
