Youmans to Replace Horton in B'way's Wicked

A second Wicked cast member from the musical's San Francisco tryout won't be coming to New York. First Kirk McDonald was replaced by Christopher Fitzgerald and now, as Ken Mandelbaum reported earlier today, William Youmans will replace John Horton, according to a production spokesperson.

Youmans has previously appeared on Broadway in Big River, The Little Foxes, Titanic and La Bohème. His off-Broadway credits include Flux, Weird Romance, 12345 and a NYSF mounting of Henry V. Youmans is stepping into the role of Dr. Dillamond in Wicked.

Wicked, starring Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, is scheduled to begin previews at Broadway's Gershwin Theatre on October 7 in preparation for an October 30 opening.
