First Wicked Preview Postponed to October 8

The producers of Wicked have decided to postpone their first New York preview by a day. The Oz-flavored show will now start performances at the Gershwin Theatre on Wednesday, October 8 at 8pm. Wicked will still open on Thursday, October 30 as previously announced.

"The producers feel very strongly that additional time is needed to make sure that elements of the production, newly added for New York, run smoothly and safely," a production spokesperson told Broadway.com. An additional performance will be added for Tuesday evening, October 14, to accommodate ticket holders for the cancelled Tuesday evening show.

Ticket buyers who purchased tickets from Broadway.com for the cancelled performance should call 1-800-BROADWAY for information on exchanges.
