Broadway.com has learned that Little Shop of Horrors understudy Jessica-Snow Wilson will begin performances as the new Audrey in the revival on June 22. Two days later, Joey Fatone will begin performances as Seymour, the man who will be standing beside her.
Wilson currently understudies the role of Audrey and has gone on many times. She has also appeared on Broadway in Les Miserables and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Wilson made her off-Broadway debut in 1996 playing Toffee in the original off-Broadway cast of Zombie Prom and is featured on the show's cast recording. She also served as an understudy for the off-Broadway production of I Sing. Her regional theater credits include The Wizard of Oz and Grease.
The night Wilson begins performances as Audrey, she will be acting opposite two understudies. Original star Hunter Foster is departing the show on June 6 and Fatone is not going in until June 24, leaving Jonathan Rayson to fill the gap. Also Darren Ritchie who is one of the leading men of the upcomingDracula, The Musical will be going on as Orin Scrivello, D.D.S and various other roles from June 15 through June 27 because Douglas Sills plays his final performance on June 13 and new star Robert Evan does not start until June 29.
Little Shop of Horrors also stars Rob Bartlett, Michael-Leon Wooley, Trisha Jeffrey, Carla J. Hargrove and DeQuina Moore. Current Audrey, Kerry Butler, will depart the production on June 20.
A production spokesperson could not confirm the casting of Wilson.
