Ally Sheedy to Star in The Triple Happiness

Brooke Bergman's The Triple Happiness will play at Second Stage's New Plays Uptown series at the McGinn/Cazale Theater in August. Ally Sheedy is set to star.

In The Triple Happiness, one Westchester family's life spins wildly out of control when a down-on-her-luck movie star Sheedy and a hopelessly romantic college girl invade their home. In addition to Sheedy, Betsy Aidem, Mark Blum, Marin Ireland, Keith Nobbs and Jesse J. Perez will appear in the play.

Sheedy has appeared off-Broadway in The Exonerated, Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Advice From A Caterpillar. She received awards from the Los Angeles Film Critics' Association, the National Society of Film Critics and an Independent Spirit Award for her performance in the film High Art. A former member of the group of actors known in the 1980s as "The Brat Pack," her other film credits include War Games, Bad Boys, Oxford Blues, The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, Betsy's Wedding, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Maid to Order, Short Circuit, One Night Stand and Sugar Town.

Directed by Michael John Garcés, The Triple Happiness is scheduled to begin previews on August 2 in preparation for an August 9 opening.
