Jay O. Sanders, who starred in the Great Lakes Theater Festival mounting of Lone Star Love in the fall of 2001, will again appear in the musical off-Broadway. Kevin Bernard, Harriett D. Foy and Dan Sharkey have also joined the cast of the Amas Musical Theatre mounting of the tuner, which already announced a cast that includes Tracee Beazer, Gary Bristol, Peter Connelly, Stacey Harris, Beth Leavel, Drew McVety, Emily Mikesell, Gary Sandy, Nick Sullivan and Clarke Thorell.
Sanders starred as Falstaff at the Great Lakes Theater Festival and played the role in subsequent readings. He has appeared on Broadway in Loose Ends, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial and Saint Joan. His off-Broadway credits include Henry V, Measure for Measure, Buried Child, Twelfth Night, In Trousers, King John and The Exonerated.
Bernard has appeared on Broadway in Oklahoma! and Thoroughly Modern Millie. He was the assistant choreographer on the film The Stepford Wives.
Foy is currently playing Rosie in Mamma Mia!, which she will depart on October 18. She previously appeared on Broadway in Once on This Island and has appeared off-Broadway in Reunion, Dinah Was, Inside Out, Fire's Daughter and Crowns. She earned a Helen Hayes nomination for her performance in Reunion at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C.
Sharkey has appeared on Broadway in The Music Man. His off-Broadway credits include Manhattan Theatre Club's the musical version of Captains Courageous.
Lone Star Love, directed by Michael Bogdanov and choreographed by Randy Skinner, is scheduled to begin previews at Amas' 39th Street space on November 21 in preparation for a December 8 opening.
