The Flea Theater's hit production of A.R. Gurney's Mrs. Farnsworth is returning to New York again--this time for a limited engagement from September 29 through November 6. Returning for the stint will be original star Sigourney Weaver, who is set to co-star alongside Gerry Bamman and Danny Burstein.
A comedy about contemporary politics, Mrs. Farnsworth centers on the title character as she begins writing a book about a former fling with an irresponsible Yale student who often has to be bailed out by his powerful folks. Does the man sound like someone who is always in the news? It should.
The show previously had a sold-out engagement with Weaver and John Lithgow headlining at the Flea from March 18 through May 8. It then returned for a "Convention Run" as it overlapped with both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions from July 28 through September 4 with Leslie Lyles and Bamman taking the lead roles.
