Sebastian Arcelus Replaces Justin Guarini in Good Vibrations

Rent's Sebastian Arcelus has joined the cast of Good Vibrations. He will play the role of Jan, which was vacated by American Idol finalist Justin Guarini, who left the Beach Boys musical during rehearsals last week.

Arcelus, a former Roger, is currently serving as an understudy in Rent. His other credits include productions of Floyd Collins, Tommy, Big River, Death of a Salesman, Miss Julie, Sex! The Musical and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.

Good Vibrations follows the romantic misadventures of a group of small-town teenagers on a life-changing odyssey to the Promised Land: the beaches of Southern California. It features music by Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys and a book by Richard Dresser.

Good Vibrations, directed and choreographed by John Carrafa, is scheduled to begin previews at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre on December 20 in preparation for a January 27 opening. Tituss Burgess, David Larsen, Kate Reinders, Brandon Wardell and Jessica-Snow Wilson will star. The cast also includes Tracee Beazer, Heath Calvert, Janet Dacal, Tom Deckman, Sarah Glendening, Milena Govich, Chad Kimball, Amanda Kloots, John Jeffrey Martin, Jesse Nager, David Reiser, Jackie Seiden, Allison Spratt, Carlos L. Encinias, Vasthy Mompoint, Steve Morgan and Krysta Rodriguez.
