The comedy by Larry Coen and David Crane opened at Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre on September 7, 1999 and lasted a total of 93 performances. The cast included Kristin Chenoweth, Jeremy Davidson and Alan Tudyk. Set in the 1930s, Epic Proportions tells the story of two brothers, Benny and Phil, who go to the Arizona desert to be extras in the huge Biblical epic Exeunt Omnes. Through a series of unforeseen events, Phil ends up directing the movie and Benny becomes its star. Then they both fall in love with the same woman.
Todd Berger is writing the screenplay for the film, which will be directed by John Landis who was recently announced as the director of the feature film adaptation of another stage project, Bat Boy.
