Douglas Hodge is set to play Nathan Detroit in the upcoming Donmar Warehouse production of Guys and Dolls. He joins previously reported stars Ewan McGregor and Jane Krakowski.
Hodge was featured this fall in Dumb Show at the Royal Court, earning an Evening Standard nomination for his performance. His other theatrical credits include mountings of Hamlet, Twelfth Night, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Coriolanus, King Lear, Blinded by the Sun, Betrayal, The Caretaker and Three Sisters. He recently appeared on the big screen in Vanity Fair.
Guys and Dolls centers on zoot-suited gamblers, dashing con men and the beautiful show girls who love 'em. McGregor is playing the male lead, who believes he can win any bet, but gets more than he bargained for when he does. The musical features a score by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. This mounting of the musical will be directed by Michael Grandage and choreographed by Rob Ashford.
The Donmar Warehouse production of Guys and Dolls will begin previews at London's Piccadilly Theatre on May 19.
