Newcomer Zvereva Lands Lead as Wiest's Daughter in Memory House

Newcomer Natalia Zvereva will star opposite Dianne Wiest in the Playwrights Horizons mounting of Kathleen Tolan's The Memory House. The production, directed by David Esbjornson, is scheduled to begin previews on April 22.

Zvereva is a 2004 graduate of Laguardia High School of the Performing Arts. Making her professional New York stage debut with The Memory House, she previously performed in productions at Laguardia, The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and Forest Hills Theatre. Zvereva was also seen this past fall as Kay in As the World Turns.

Memory House, Wiest will play a mother whose 18-year-old daughter Zvereva confronts her about the ethical ramifications of her own international adoption. The play unfolds in real time as Wiest's character struggles to bake a pie and her onstage daughter races to meet the rapidly looming postmark deadline for her college applications.

The show is scheduled to officially open off-Broadway on May 17.
