The Atlantic Theater Company is extending its world premiere production of David Mamet's Romance for a second time. The show will now run through May 1.
Set in a modern day courtroom, Romance is a farce that explores issues ranging from our current judicial system to the Middle East conflict, fidelity and world peace. Bob Balaban, Larry Bryggman, Jim Frangione, Steven Goldstein, Steven Hawley, Keith Nobbs and Christopher Evan Welch star in the comedy.
Romance, directed by Neil Pepe opened on March 1 to mixed reviews. In his < ahref=http://www.broadway.com/gen/Buzz_Story.aspx?ci=507527>Broadway.com Review of the play, Eric Grode wrote: "Romance, David Mamet's screwball evisceration of the legal and personal codes that keep us afloat, makes a great amount of noise, some of it scandalously amusing. But rather than take aim at any specific target, Mamet and director Neil Pepe spray the Atlantic Theater's stage with conceptual buckshot. Everything gets hit, and none of it is lethal."
