"I think it's the single best one-man show in the history of the theater," producer Emanuel Azenberg previously told Broadway.com. "The thing that might be close is John Gielgud in Ages of Man."
Azenberg first presented Holbrook in Mark Twain Tonight! on Broadway in 1966. Holbrook won the Best Actor in Play Tony Award for his performance in the show. He returned to New York with the show for a short engagement in 1977. He has toured all over the world in Mark Twain Tonight! and has upcoming tour dates set in Colorado, Ohio and Utah.
The Brooks Atkinson is currently home to Democracy, which will end its run on April 17. The theater has two other tenants booked for after Mark Twain Tonight!: Suzanne Somers' The Blonde in the Thunderbird is scheduled to run there from July 8 through September 3 and then the Broadway revival of The Odd Couple begins performances at the Brooks Atkinson on October 4.
