The Light in the Piazza topped the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award nominations, picking up a total of 11 nods, including Outstanding Broadway Musical. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was right behind Piazza with a total of 10 nominations, which also included Outstanding Broadway Musical
The Outer Critics Circle is an organization of writers covering Broadway for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media. The winners of the following categories will be announced on May 9, and the annual awards ceremony will be held on May 26 at the Sardi's.
