Idina Menzel will star in Michael John LaChiusa's See What I Wanna See at the Public Theater the fall. Henry Stram and Mary Testa, who appeared in the show's premiere at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, will reprise their roles off-Broadway. Marc Kudisch is also now set for the production, according to a production spokesperson.
Menzel won a 2004 Best Actress Tony Award for her last New York stage performance in Wicked. She earned a Tony nomination for her portrayal of Maureen in Rent and also appeared on Great White Way in Aida. Her other theatrical credits include the Manhattan Theatre Club production of Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party for which she earned a Drama Desk Award nomination, the Connecticut and Ohio productions of Summer of `42 and the Encores! revival of Hair. She will be seen on the big screen in the upcoming films Ask the Dust and Rent.

The show, directed by Ted Sperling, premiered at the Williamstown Theatre Festival last summer. Audra McDonald, who was attached to the piece since its development, starred in that mounting playing the roles Young Woman and Actress that Menzel will now take on.
