Paul Grellong's Manuscript will end its limited off-Broadway engagement a week earlier than previously expected. The show will now close at the Daryl Roth Theatre on August 14 after 13 previews and 72 performances.
In Manuscript, three ambitious college freshman on winter break from their Ivy League schools discover a manuscript that can guarantee success. Then the discovery sets into motion a manipulative quest for vengeance and fame. Jeffrey Carlson, Marin Ireland and Pablo Schreiber star.
Manuscript, directed by Bob Balaban, opened off-Broadway on June 12. In his Broadway.com Review of the piece, William Stevenson wrote: "There are a few funny lines… But there are also unintentionally funny moments, when audience members laugh because a character says something utterly implausible. All three actors have been much better in other productions Ireland in Sabina, Carlson in Taboo and The Goat and Schreiber in Sin: A Cardinal Deposed. Here, none of them are able to make their self-satisfied characters very interesting."
