John Gallagher Jr. will join Tyne Daly, Cynthia Nixon and John Slattery in the upcoming Manhattan Theatre Club mounting of David Lindsay-Abaire's Rabbit Hole. The production, directed by Daniel Sullivan, is scheduled to begin previews on January 12.
Gallagher Jr. has appeared off-Broadway at MTC in Current Events and Lindsay-Abaire's Kimberly Akimbo. He also appeared in Kimberly Akimbo at the South Coast Repertory Theatre and was nominated for a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for his performance in the show. The actor notably played Timmy Burns, the youngest child in the dysfunctional Burns family, in the film Pieces of April.
In Rabbit Hole, Becca Nixon and Howie Corbett Slattery have everything a family could want, until the day their world is turned upside down. In the aftermath of a life-shattering accident, the couple finds itself drifting perilously apart. Gallagher Jr. will play Jason, a teenage boy who lives in their neighborhood.
