Kelli O'Hara is set to star opposite Harry Connick Jr. in the Roundabout Theatre Company revival of The Pajama Game, according to a production spokesperson.
O'Hara is currently playing Clara Johnson, a role that earned her a Tony nomination, in The Light in the Piazza at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre. She will leave the show on December 4. BeforeThe Light in the Piazza, O'Hara appeared on the Great White Way in Jekyll & Hyde, Follies, Sweet Smell of Success and Dracula. Her other credits include Jekyll & Hyde on tour, My Life With Albertine at Playwrights Horizons and regional productions of The Light in the Piazza.
Richard Bissell's novel 7 1/2 Cents inspired The Pajama Game, which features music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross and a book by George Abbott and Bissell. In the musical comedy, a battle ensues when workers at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory demand a seven-and-a-half cent raise from their reluctant employers. Matters are complicated when the head of the Union Grievance Committee, Babe Williams O'Hara, falls in love with one of the company's leaders, Sid Connick Jr..
