Entertaining Mr. Sloane centers on a handsome stranger with a secret, his libidinous landlady, her gender-bending brother and geriatric father. Kath's Emery language may be prim but her intentions are blatant when she picks up Mr. Sloane Carmack and takes him in as a lodger. Attractive, mischievous and dangerous, Sloane eventually has Kath, her brother Ed Baldwin and their father Kemp Easton eating out of his hand as they all compete for his favors. Together they play out a sexual tug of war, where they will resort to anything to get what they want.
Baldwin last appeared on the New York stage in a play two seasons ago in Roundabout's Broadway revival of Twentieth Century. He was nominated for a 1992 Tony Award for his performance in A Streetcar Named Desire. In addition to Twentieth Century and Streetcar, he has also appeared on the Great White Way in Serious Money and Loot. His off-Broadway credits include Prelude to a Kiss, Macbeth and Trumbo. Baldwin is best known for his work in Hollywood. His big screen credits include The Hunt for Red October, The Marrying Man, Glengarry Glen Ross, Prelude to a Kiss, Malice, The Getaway, Pearl Harbor, The Cooler for which he received an Oscar nomination, The Cat in the Hat, Along Came Polly, The Last Shot, The Aviator and Elizabethtown.
Carmack is currently has a recurring role on the WB series Related. He is best known for playing Luke Ward on The O.C. and also recently appeared in the Lifetime miniseries Beach Girls.
Easton won a 2001 Tony Award for his portrayal of the older A.E. Houseman in The Invention of Love. His other Broadway credits include Noises Off, Exit the King, The Misanthrope, The Cherry Orchard, Hamlet, Back to Methuselah, Country Wife, School for Scandal, Henry IV and The Rivals. He is currently appearing in the New York Theatre Workshop mounting of Bach at Leipzig.
Emery's Broadway credits include Passion, Burn This, Rumors, Present Laughter, Jackie, The Women and The Smell of the Kill. Her off-Broadway credits include In Connecticut, Grown Ups, Marvin's room, The Matchmaker, Far East, Dinner with Friends, Orton's What the Butler Saw, Iron and Hot 'n' Throbbing.
