Judith Blazer Joins Cast of Musical Bernarda Alba at LCT

Judith Blazer has joined the cast of the Lincoln Center Theater musical Bernarda Alba at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. She will appear alongside previously announced company members Yolande Bavan, Candy Buckley, Nikki M. James, Sally Murphy, Tony winner Phylicia Rashad, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Saundra Santiago, Laura Shoop and Nancy Ticotin.

Blazer has appeared on Broadway in Me and My Girl, A Change in the Heir, Titanic and 45 Seconds From Broadway. Her off-Broadway credits include Hello Again which was also at the Newhouse, Jack's Holiday and Hurrah at Last. Her regional theater credits include mountings of Funny Girl, The Night Governess, The Miracle Worker, Peter Pan and On the Twentieth Century.

A musical version of Federico Garcia Lorca's The House of Bernarda Alba, Bernarda Alba tells the story of a newly widowed mother Rashad, who enforces her iron will on her large household, only to have her daughters Blazer, James, Murphy, Rubin-Vega and Santiago overwhelm her tyranny. The show features words and music by Michael John LaChiusa and direction and choreography by Graciela Daniele.

Bernarda Alba is scheduled to begin performances on February 11 in preparation for an official opening on March 6.
