Lane Still Suffering; Odd Couple Cancels January 19 Performance

Another performance of The Odd Couple has been canceled due to star Nathan Lane's laryngitis. The show, which called off January 18 matinee and evening performances, will now also be dark for January 19.

Neil Simon's The Odd Couple centers on two mismatched roommates--one sloppy Lane and one neat Matthew Broderick--who are arguably the most memorable pair of characters that the successful playwright has ever written.

The production, directed by Joe Mantello, was already sold-out by the time it opened to mixed reviews on October 27. In addition to the two above-the-title stars, the cast includes Rob Bartlett, Peter Frechette, Olivia d'Abo, Mike Starr, Jessica Stone and Lee Wilkof. The Odd Couple is now scheduled to end its limited engagement at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on June 4.
