Nixon began her formal dance training at the Kirov Academy of Ballet. Nixon, who is the daughter of Debbie Allen, then trained at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. She is part of the Alvin Ailey II dance company.
David received a Tony Award nomination for his performance in Jelly's Last Jam. Balderrama has appeared on Broadway in Saturday Night Fever, Movin' Out and Urban Cowboy. Duquesnay won a Best Featured Actress in a Musical Tony Award for Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk. Hidalgo appeared on Broadway in Candide and Chicago and portrayed Desi Arnaz in the pre-Broadway tryout of The Mambo Kings. Livingston has been featured on an Old Navy commercial. Smith's Broadway credits include Sophisticated Ladies, The Three Musketeers and Grind.

Hot Feet, conceived, directed and choreographed by Maurice Hines, will have its pre-Broadway run at Washington, D.C.'s National Theatre from March 21 through April 9. It is scheduled to begin performances at Broadway's Hilton Theatre on April 18 three days later than previously announced and officially open in New York on April 30.
