Fran Drescher and Brooke Smith will join previously announced stars Eric McCormack and Maura Tierney in the MCC Theater mounting of Neil LaBute's Some Girls.
Native New Yorker Drescher is known for her nasal voice and as an Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee for her starring role in the TV sitcom The Nanny, for which she also served as producer. Her long list of screen credits includes the films This Is Spinal Tap, Car 54, Where Are You?, The Beautician and the Beast and Saturday Night Fever. She appeared off-Broadway as a replacement in the Drama Desk Award-winning production of The Exonerated at 45 Bleecker. She was tapped to make her Broadway debut in Paper Doll in 2002, but the production never materialized.
Brooke Smith, who boasts a wide variety of regional stage credits, replaced Jessica Hecht in the Public Theater's production of Stop Kiss off-Broadway in 1999. Her film credits include Melinda and Melinda, Vanya on 42nd Street and The Silence of the Lambs.
Some Girls, directed by Jo Bonney, is scheduled to officially open on June 8 and run through June 24.
