Gummer, Lysy and Powell Complete Water's Edge Cast at Second Stage

Mamie Gummer, Austin Lysy and Katharine Powell have signed on to join Kate Burton and Tony Goldwyn in the Second Stage Theatre production of Theresa Rebeck's The Water's Edge, with performances beginning on May 23. Will Frears will direct.

Gummer recently made her off-Broadway debut in the Roundabout Theatre Company staging of Mr. Marmalade. A graduate of Northwestern University, Gummer's credits at the school included Arcadia, Three Sisters, The Laramie Project, House of the Blue Leaves, Ubu Roi, Songs for Dixie Kiminsky, Vag and the Boys and Twelve Volt Heart.

Lysy has appeared on Broadway in Macbeth. His off-Broadway credits include Hobson's Choice, The Water's Edge, Other People and Manic Flight Reaction.

Powell appeared on the New York stage in Smashing at Intar 53. Her regional credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream at the American Repertory Theatre and Three Sisters at the American Conservatory Theatre.

The Water's Edge tells the story of a woman Burton and her two children Gummer and Lysy, whose lakeside home is invaded by her long estranged ex-husband Goldwyn. Second Stage's production is set to open off-Broadway on June 15 and run through July 9.
