SubUrbia examines a day in the life of seven rootless young Americans who gather in the parking lot of a Pakistani family's convenience store. The show, which premiered at Lincoln Center's Mitzi E. Newhouse space in 1994, is being updated for this new production. Bogosian's wife, Second Stage Artistic Associate Jo Bonney, will helm the mounting, running September 6 through October 29.
Some Men is about to begin its world premiere engagement at the Philadelphia Theater Company. The show highlights the moments when guests at a gay wedding ceremony found true love in their own lives and celebrates the century of change that brought them to this point. Performances at Second Stage will begin on November 21.
Even though it is announcing plans for 2006-2007, Second Stage has not yet completed its 2005-2006 season. Rebeck's The Water's Edge will begin performances on May 23 and run through July 9. This summer the company will continue its "Second Stage Theatre Uptown" series at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre with Anton Dudley's Getting Home running June 5 through July 1 and Rajiv Joseph's All This Intimacy playing July 17 through August 12.
