Simone, Will Chase and Lisa Brescia—all of whom appeared in Aida on Broadway—will return to the musical this summer in a mounting at the The Muny in St. Louis. The production, also featuring Michael James Scott and Ken Page, will run at the 11,000-seat outdoor theater from June 26 through July 2.
Simone, who appeared in a workshop of Aida and starred in the original touring company, played the title role on Broadway from January 29, 2002, through June 15, 2003. Chase took over the role of Radames after Simone departed, appearing June 17, 2003, through June 27, 2004. Brescia, who was part of the second touring company of Aida, began performances as Broadway's Amneris on January 6, 2004 and remained until the show closed on September 5, 2004, overlapping with Chase.
Scott, who will play Mereb, has appeared on Broadway in Mamma Mia! and All Shook Up. Page known for appearances in Guys and Dolls, Ain't Misbehavin' and Cats on the Great White Way appeared alongside Simone in an Aida workshop, but did not continue with the musical beyond that. He will play Amonsasro.
