Roger Bart will return to The Producers as Leo Bloom on May 16. Hunter Foster played his final performance in the role on May 14.
Bart, who is now probably best known to audiences throughout the world for his performance as the sinister George Williams in television's Desperate Housewives, has already done three prior stints as Bloom. Bart received Tony and Drama Desk nominations for his performance at Carmen Ghia, his original role in The Producers. He reprised the role of Ghia in Susan Stroman's film version of The Producers. He also received the 1999 Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Other Broadway and first national touring credits include The Frogs, Triumph of Love, King David, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Secret Garden, Big River and The Who's Tommy. His off-Broadway credits include Fully Committed, Henry IV, Parts I & II, Up Against It and Vampire Lesbians of Sodom.
