The Fantasticks, about a boy and girl separated by a wall built by their feuding fathers, features music by Harvey Schmidt and book and lyrics by Tom Jones. The show, which originally starred Jerry Orbach and Rita Gardner, opened at New York's Sullivan Street Playhouse on May 3, 1960. It ran at the Sullivan Street through January 13, 2002. A film version, released in 2000, was not successful.
The Snapple Theater Center has two theaters inside it. One is currently home to the long-running drama Perfect Crime, which will continue to run.
