Linda Gray to Star in World Premiere Stage Version of Terms of Endearment

A stage version of Terms of Endearment, starring Linda Gray, will have its world premiere next spring. The show will be presented as a co-production between the Alley Theatre in Texas where it will run March 30, 2007 through April 29, 2007 and Hartford Stage in Connecticut where it will play May 24, 2007 through June 24, 2007.

Terms of Endearment revolves around the conflicted relationship of the selfish Aurora Greenway Gray and her resolute daughter Emma. Thrown into the mix are issues of marriage, children and illness, which serve to test the boundaries of love between mother and daughter.

Larry McMurtry's best-selling novel Terms of Endearment was previously made into an acclaimed 1983 film starring Shirley MacLaine who won an Oscar for her performance in the role of Aurora. The book has been adapted for the stage by Dan Gordon.

Gray most recently appeared onstage in The Graduate, starring as Mrs. Robinson in the play in the West End, on Broadway and in the North American tour. She is best known for her role as Sue Ellen Ewing in the wildly successful primetime soap opera Dallas, in which she starred for 11 years. In the past few years she has been seen as Priscilla Kelly on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Hartford Stage Artistic Director Michael Wilson will helm Terms of Endearment.
