2006 Tony Honors Go to Alessandrini, Liff, Stewart and BMI Workshop

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has chosen the 2006 recipients of the Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre, which will be presented on October 24 at Tavern on the Green.

Forbidden Broadway creator Gerald Alessandrini, William Morris agent Samuel Biff Liff, La MaMa E.T.C. founder/director Ellen Stewart and the BMI Leham Engel Musical Theatre Workshop will be honored at the private event.

The Tony Honors recognize contributions to the field of theatre for individuals and organizations that are not eligible in any of the established Tony categories.
