Broadway Grosses: Wicked and Jersey Boys Duke It Out

Though plenty of new shows are vying for attention and audience dollars, only A Chorus Line made it into the top five this week, drawing an impressive 99.89% capacity at the Schoenfeld Theatre. Otherwise, established hits took top honors, with Wicked and Jersey Boys duking it out for first place in the week's grosses Wicked topped the chart, earning $1,408,440 at the Gershwin Theatre and capacity Jersey Boys came in first, with 100.79% at the August Wilson Theatre. Among previewing shows, Grey Gardens drew 82.24% capacity at the Walter Kerr and Les Miserables pulled in 91.55% capacity in its first seven previews at the Broadhurst.
