The Broadway musical High Fidelity will end its Broadway run after a mere 18 preview and 14 regular performances. The show will play its final performance at the Imperial Theatre on Sunday, December 17.
With a score by Broadway newcomers Tom Kitt music and Amanda Green lyrics and a book by first-time librettist David Lindsay-Abaire, High Fidelity stars Will Chase as Rob, a record store owner who is unlucky in love. Based on the popular Nick Hornby novel and subsequent MGM movie, High Fidelity opened last Thursday, December 7, to mostly negative reviews.
Directed by Walter Bobbie, High Fidelity also stars Jenn Colella as Laura, Christian Anderson as Dick, Jay Klaitz as Barry, Rachel Stern as Liz/Jackie, Jeb Brown as Ian/Middle-Aged Guy, Emily Swallow as Marie/Charlie, Jon Patrick Walker as T.M.P.M.I.T.W./Bruce and Kirsten Wyatt as Anna/Alison.
