The LAByrinth Theater Company has announced performance dates for its world-premiere production of Bob Glaudini's Jack Goes Boating, starring Daphne Rubin-Vega and company co-artistic directors Philip Seymour Hoffman and John Ortiz. Peter DuBois will direct the play, which will begin previews on February 27, 2007, and open March 18 at the Public Theater's Martinson Hall.
Laced with cooking classes, swimming lessons and a smorgasbord of illegal drugs, Jack Goes Boating is described as a story of date panic, marital meltdown, betrayal and the prevailing grace of the human spirit. As previously reported, Rubin-Vega will take a leave of absence from playing Fantine in the Broadway company of Les Miserables from February 18 to April 11, 2007, to fulfill her commitment to the play.
