Tom Stoppard's Rock 'n' Roll, which is currently in its final weeks in London's West End, will land on Broadway this fall, according to Variety. Trevor Nunn will direct.
Rock 'n' Roll spans the recent history of Czechoslovakia between the Prague Spring and the Velvet Revolution but from the double perspective of Prague, where a rock ‘n' roll band comes to symbolise resistance to the Communist regime, and the British left, represented by a Communist philosopher at Cambridge.
The play debuted at the Royal Court Theatre in 2006 and subsequently moved to the Duke of York's Theatre, where it will end its run on February 25. Although the opening night cast featured Rufus Sewell, Brian Cox and Sinead Cusack Rock 'n' Roll currently stars Dominic West, David Calder and Emma Fielding.
No casting or theater has been announced for the Broadway production.
