Lister-Jones, Margulies Among Cast for New Group's Accomplices

The New Group has announced the cast and creative team for its forthcoming production of Bernard Weinraub's The Accomplices, which begins performances at the company's home on Theater Row, the Acorn Theatre, on March 20. Opening night is set for April 9, and the production is scheduled to run through May 5, under the direction of Ian Morgan.

The cast will include Catherine Curtin Aunt Dan and Lemon, Love Janis, Jon Devries Execution of Justice, Major Barbara, Robert Hogan A Few Good Men, What Didn't Happen, Zoe Lister-Jones The Little Dog Laughed, Mad Forest, David Margulies All That I Will Ever Be, 45 Seconds from Broadway, Andrew Polk Critical Darling, Flight, Daniel Sauli The Judas Kiss, A View from the Bridge, Mark Zeisler Brooklyn Boy, Big Love and Mark Zimmerman The Rainmaker, Moonlight and Magnolias.

In The Accomplices, Hillel Kook arrives in the United States at the beginning of World War II, fresh from the underground resistance to the British in Palestine. Under the alias Peter Bergson, he leads a small group of activists seeking aid for the rescue of Jews in Europe. Bergson is shocked to find his efforts blocked by both the Roosevelt administration and the Jewish establishment. Undaunted, he and his colleagues organize a bold campaign in a desperate race against time and fear of reprisal. Based on actual events, The Accomplices is the true story of one man's fight on American soil to shatter a conspiracy of silence and inaction, written by a longtime reporter for The New York Times.
