Bebe Neuwirth has extended her stay as Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago for four weeks, through April 22. She had been scheduled to leave the show on March 25. Neuwirth won the 1997 Best Actress Tony Award for her performance as Velma Kelly in the revival of the Kander & Ebb musical, which recently celebrated its 10th year on Broadway, and switched roles when she returned to the show in December. She discussed her long history with Chicago in a Broadway.com Q&A interview just after she began playing Roxie at the Ambassador Theatre. In addition to Neuwirth, the cast of Chicago currently includes Brenda Braxton as Velma, Philip Casnoff as Billy Flynn, Rob Bartlett as Amos Hart and Roz Ryan as Matron Mama Morton. Walter Bobbie is the director.
