Margaret Cho Will Headline The Sensuous Woman Burlesque Show

Comedian Margaret Cho will headline The Sensuous Woman, a burlesque and variety show headed for off Broadway's Zipper Theater in the fall. The show will begin its four-week run on September 26 and open October 6 after a run at Chicago's Lakeshore Theater from September 19 to 22.

The Sensuous Woman will feature burlesque performers Princess Farhana, Selene Luna and Miss Dirty Martini; comics Ian Harvie and Liam Sullivan; and sketch comedians Diana Yanez and Kurt Hall. The show is being presented by WestBeth Entertainment.

Cho has starred in a series of one-woman comedy shows, including I'm the One That I Want which was a hit off-Broadway, Notorious C.H.O, Revolution, State of Emergency and Assassin. Her feature film Bam Bam and Celeste is set for release on DVD in August.

"The Sensuous Woman is an evening of comedy, dance and music celebrating women's bodies," Cho said in a statement. "I have suffered from eating disorders and a horrendously distorted body image for my entire life, and I think the biggest reason is a lack of images of real women's bodies."
