Rudnick's The New Century Coming at Lincoln Center Theater

Lincoln Center Theater will present The New Century, four short plays by Paul Rudnick, in the spring of 2008 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, directed by Nicholas Martin. Dates, cast and the design team for the off-Broadway production will be announced at a later date.

The four short plays in The New Century feature everyone from a concerned Long Island mother of at least three gay children, to an accomplished Midwestern craftswoman, to one of Rudnick's favorite characters, Mr. Charles, a flamboyant resident of Palm Beach. Ultimately, they all collide under surprising and comic circumstances, and we discover just where our new century might be heading.

Rudnick was most recently represented off-Broadway with the Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Regrets Only. His other plays include Valhalla, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, Mr. Charles Currently of Palm Beach, Pride and Joy, I Hate Hamlet and Jeffrey. His screenplays include Addams Family Values, Jeffrey and In & Out.
