Jackie Mason will bring his eighth and what is being billed as his final one-man comedy show, Jackie Mason: The Ultimate Jew, to off-Broadway's New World Stages next spring. The show is scheduled to begin March 18, 2008, for a limited ten-week run, through May 25. No director is listed for the show, which will Mason's unique and passionate brand of political commentary for the election year.
Mason has starred in a series of successful solo shows, beginning with The World According to Me, which opened on Broadway in 1986 and ran for two and a half years, winning Mason a Tony Award, an Emmy Award and a Grammy nomination, among other honors. A subsequent show, Jackie Mason on Broadway, won numerous awards and was broadcast on HBO. His most recent show, Freshly Squeezed, opened in 2005 and has been touring the world ever since.
Mason can be heard on his own nationally syndicated radio show on the Talk Radio Network, which airs Sunday nights. With co-author Raoul Lionel Felder, he wrote Schmucks! Our Favorite Fakes, Frauds, Lowlifes, Liars, the Armed and Dangerous, Good Guys Gone Bad and the forthcoming Schmucks 2.
