Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin are set to reunite for a staged concert series of eight performances only, from October 23 to 29. The show, entitled An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin, will play at the Prince Music Theater in Philadelphia and will mark the first time the pair have appeared on stage together since their Tony-winning runs in the original Broadway company of Evita.
About the reunion concert, Patinkin says, "We've set out to create an entertaining evening for the audience and fun for Patti and me. Through some of the greatest material ever written for the theatre, both sung and spoken, we'll tell the story of two people, from their first meeting through the passage of time in their lives. There will be familiar and some surprising song choices. I'm thrilled to be sharing the stage again with my dear friend."
Patinkin is known best in recent years for TV credits like Criminal Minds, Dead Like Me and an Emmy-winning turn on Chicago Hope. He appeared on Broadway in Sunday in the Park with George and The Wild Party.
In addition to these two stage legends, the event will also feature choreography by Chicago's Ann Reinking and Patinkin's longtime collaborator, musical director Paul Ford. Costume design is by Ann Hould-Ward, lighting design is by Eric Cornwell, and sound design is by Otts Munderloh.
