Jonathan Rayson will join the cast of the long-running off-Broadway musical I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change on October 26, replacing Bryan McElroy, who is in rehearsals to play Tommy DeVito in the Chicago production of Jersey Boys. I Love You... is currently in its 12th year at the Westside Theatre, where it has played more than 4,500 performances.
Directed by Joel Bishoff, I Love You... also features Anne Bobby, Frank Vlastnik and Amy White. A musical comedy that pokes fun at dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change was composed by Jimmy Roberts, with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro.
Rayson appeared on Broadway in Little Shop of Horrors and A Year With Frog and Toad and played the leading role of Seymour in the national tour of Little Shop of Horrors. His off-Broadway credits include Adrift in Macao and That Time of the Year, and he played Cornelius Hackl in Hello, Dolly! at Paper Mill Playhouse. His debut CD, Shiny and New, features music by some of the greatest pop songwriters of the 1970s.
