Cindy Williams, best known as Shirley Feeney in the long-running 1970s sitcom Laverne & Shirley, will join the cast of The Drowsy Chaperone on December 11 as Mrs. Tottendale. JoAnne Worley will play her final performance in the role on December 9 at Broadway's Marquis Theatre.
Williams recently played Miss Lynch in the national tour of Grease! and has toured the U.S. in Deathtrap and Moon Over Buffalo. Her film credits include American Graffiti, Travels with My Aunt and The Conversation. On television, Williams was most recently seen in guest starring roles on Eight Simple Rules, Law & Order: SVU, Girlfriends and Less than Perfect and has had recurring roles in the Comedy Central series Strip Mall and the Warner Brothers series For Your Love and Getting By. She was co-producer the hugely successful Father of the Bride movie franchise.
The Drowsy Chaperone opened on Broadway on May 1, 2006, and is also touring 30 cities across the country. Bob Saget is currently playing the central role of Man in Chair in the Broadway company alongside Tony winner Beth Leavel, Danny Burstein, Mara Davi, Troy Britton Johnson and Peter Bartlett.
