JoAnne Worley Set to Join L.A. Company of Wicked

JoAnne Worley will join the Los Angeles company of Wicked in the role of Madame Morrible beginning January 9, according to Variety. Worley departed the Broadway production of The Drowsy Chaperone, in which she played Mrs. Tottendale, on December 9, and had appeared in the Encores! presentation of Follies earlier in the year. She replaces Carol Kane.

In other L.A. Wicked casting news, Caissie Levy will assume the role of Elphaba replacing Eden Espinosa, Michael Drolet begins as Boq and Marcie Dodd will play Nessarose, as of January 1. Levy played Penny Pingleton on the national tour and Broadway productions of Hairspray and had been serving as Espinosa's understudy. Drolet and Dodd step up from their positions as members of the ensemble.
