The hit Broadway production of Cyrano de Bergerac, starring Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner, is headed for PBS's Great Performances. According to a news release from producers Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley, taping began on January 2 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre for broacast "later this year and future release on DVD." Cyrano de Bergerac, which has been playing to near capacity audiences, is scheduled to end its limited run on January 6.
Cyrano represents Lane and Comley's second television venture with Great Performances, having previously having taped last season's Broadway revival of Company starring Raul Esparza. Company is scheduled to air on PBS on February 20.
